In 2013, Watermark Health began- originally known as QuestCare Community Clinic, a Watermark Community Church Partnership.

Clinic Launch Event- September, 2013

The free and charitable clinic located at the Skillman Crossing was the vision of QuestCare Medical Services coming together with Watermark Community Church to provide free Urgent Care services to the uninsured and underinsured in Dallas, TX. The endeavor was a work of a variety of talented professionals chosing to serve the city together. Realtors, City Council Members, Architects, Construction Management teams, and a variety of other launch partners oversaw the construction of the 3,700 sq ft facility, as well as the development of services, volunteer structures and patient care.

“Our goal is to be a high quality resource for healthcare to a community in need,” Matt Bush, Watermark Health Board Chairman shared at the time of the launch. “QuestCare Clinic is a place where medical providers and others can volunteer their time and be the hands and feet of Christ. This is a place where others throughout the community will see the great work God is doing through His people.”

Did you know? The Skillman Clinic is located in the 75243 zip code, which is consistently ranked with some of the lowest health outcomes and highest socieo-economic needs in DFW. The area is home to a large refugee resettlement area with many individuals who have never navigated the US Healthcare System before.

The first patient to be seen during the soft opening was a woman who came because she was feeling cold and flu symptoms. During her visit the team discovered she was pregnant. Her first question was "where is the nearest abortion clinic?".

Through pastoral and intentional conversations, the staff and volunteers that day had the chance to help the woman make a decision for life for her child. They not only helped walk with her through the pregnancy (including hosting a babyshower for her in the nearby Denny's) but stayed in touch for two years until she moved out of state.

This very first patient was a glimpse into some of the life changing work the Lord had planned for Watermark Health. The story was just beginning!

Thank you for being a part of writing these amazing stories. Help us write the next 10 years worth of impact! Give to the ministry today.
